Elisabeth Moss battles dangerous air in eerie, jump-scary 'The Invisible Man'

If you’ve kept up with my blog, you know that horror movies are not at the top list of my favorite genres. But something called to me with this movie. While the trailer for the film reveals most of the movie, I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by how haunting The Invisible ManContinue reading “Elisabeth Moss battles dangerous air in eerie, jump-scary 'The Invisible Man'”

Bigger doesn’t mean scarier in the bloody and overwrought ‘It: Chapter Two’

2017’s It (or It: Chapter One) was a scary but surprise hit as Stephen King’s 1200-page horror novel was adapted for the big screen. Stellar performances from a young cast of child actors, an old-school feeling as a loss of innocence film at its core, with King’s fear, mortality and survivalist themes, helped make it the highest-grossingContinue reading “Bigger doesn’t mean scarier in the bloody and overwrought ‘It: Chapter Two’”

‘Ready or Not’ is a bloody, entertaining horror game to watch.

‘Halloween’ is a Faithful and Entertaining Return for Michael Myers.

Long live Michael Myers! Forget what you know about the Halloween sequels, or just wipe your browser history, to forget the other franchise entries that came in between. This meta-sequel to the 1978 horror classic returns the story to its core and fun as hell… And well worth the long wait.

Nervy, Smart, and Brilliant: ‘A Quiet Place’ does it all.

At first glace of the title, ‘A Quiet Place’ sounds like it should be a full-fledged drama film: a young attractive couple seemingly raising their children out in the middle of a rural area. Long country walks, fishing, and board games by gaslight is what you would expect. The reality is this family lives inContinue reading “Nervy, Smart, and Brilliant: ‘A Quiet Place’ does it all.”
