Disney’s ‘Christopher Robin’ reintroduces an adult with a childhood friend.

As we grow up, we shed pieces of our childhood away. The child grows up into an adult, taking on responsibilities and, sometimes, forgetting the purity and joy of running around the playground or talking to imaginary friends. There are some cases where our inner child is contained and protected deep inside our soul, shielded from the harsh realities of life and adulthood.

Then there are some times where we need to be reconnected with that child we have forgotten so long ago.

Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor), the little boy from the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, is now all grown up and has a family of his own. However, he seems to have lost all sense of imagination. Pooh and his friends re-enter his life to help him find it again.

The cast is filled out by Hayley Atwell as Christopher’s wife, Bronte Carmichael as Christopher’s daughter, and Mark Gatiss as Christopher’s boss. The voice cast is filled out by Jim Cummings bringing his voice back to Pooh, Chris O’Dowd as Tigger, Nick Mohammed as Piglet, Brad Garrett as Eeyore, Peter Capaldi as Rabbit, Sophie Okonedo as Kanga, Toby Jones as Owl, Wyatt Dean Hall as Roo.

As far as Disney’s live-action remakes go, this is one is close to my heart as I remember watching The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as a child. I can’t wait to reunite with this stuffed, hunny-loving bear.

Christopher Robin is scheduled to be released on August 3.
